Many people want their home to sell quickly but do nothing to put that home in a “For Sale” mode. Follow these simple steps and prepare your home for sale!

1. General cleanup outside and inside. Don’t neglect the corners. First impressions are important.

2. Repair cracks—always suspect when viewed by the buyer. Replace light bulbs and streamline counters and cabinets.

3. Repair leaks. Visible water stains means trouble. Disclose the defect! Better yet, repair them!

4. Paint—Paper—Labor! When made like new, the house will glow. It makes a positive statement.

5. Know the linear size of each room, the garage and the basement.

6. Odors? Deodorize your house from pets and clean out eh animal fur. Have the carpets shampooed and worn spots or run areas replaced.

7. Have a current plat of survey. You were given one at your closing, or ask your bank for a copy.

8. Make the home available for showing at moment’s notice. Buyers are unpredictable time-wise. Greet them cordially, then leave. Help your agent.

9. Open House: Evacuate! We will do our best when left alone on that great day. We will show your home to the public. No dogs! No cats! No loud music! No owners! Put Tony Bennett on the stereo! Let the agent take over!

10. Go out and relax.

IN SUMMARY: You are now ready to receive buyers! Your home will look so good you will probably want to buy it yourself! But please remember, your next home will be even more exciting!
